The City of Pacific is hosting two public meetings to discuss the planned renovation of the Historic Red Cedar Inn property. Both meetings will be held at Pacific City Hall. The first meeting is Monday, January 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the second meeting scheduled for Monday, February 25, also from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Representatives of Patterhn-Ives , an architectural firm selected by the City to assist with the work, will conduct the meeting. The intent is to get public feedback on the City's plans for the property, which include renovation for welcome center, museum and potentially other uses.
The City engaged Patterhn-Ives in fall, 2018 to perform the "Phase 1" planning and programming work. The result of the Phase 1 study is expected to be presented to the City in spring or summer, 2019. If plans move forward, renovation of the building would likely be underway in late 2019.
The Red Cedar Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is an iconic Route 66 landmark. The City welcomes input on the future use of this property. Comments may be made at the public meetings, sent by email to email@example.com, or sent by mail to City of Pacific, 300 Hoven Drive, Pacific MO 63069.
