The city sits on Interstate 44 and historic Route 66. The city has recently undergone a major improvement project on city streets, including the West Osage and I-44 entrance to the city, South First and St. Louis Streets in Old Town, improvements that fostered a renewal of Old Town. Two railroads, BNSF and the Union Pacific, serve the city with trunk lines to U.S. Silica, Pacific Lumber and Graphic Packaging.
